John Battalino

John Battalino is a retired Neurologist & Chief Medical Officer for the State of California. He is honored to be active in the Poetic Justice Project. He served as president of the San Luis Obispo Little Theatre in 1989 and was instrumental in securing the present downtown location. John also served as president of the Centerpoint Theatre Group from 1992 to 1996. John has acted, directed and designed shows for most of the theatre groups on the Central Coast for the past 25 years. He was honored to receive the Lifetime Achievement Award from the San Luis Obispo Little Theatre in 2007.

John performs regularly with the Pacific Conservatory of Performing Arts, the Central Coast's resident professional theatre company. His PCPA Theatrefest credits include: Professor Willard, Our Town; Leonato, Much Ado About Nothing; Dr. Flushing, Imaginary Invalid; Adam, As You Like It; Baptistin, A Flea In Her Ear; Old Man Stone, Urinetown, and Jim Jameson, Third.

Other theatre credits include: Andrey Botvinick, A Walk in the Woods; Gloucster, King Lear; Friar Francis, Much Ado About Nothing; Feer, The Cherry Orchard; Beaudricourt, The Lark; Hector Nations, Foxfire; Horatio, Hamlet; Palonius, Hamlet; Don Armado, Love's Labor Lost; Elisha Whitney, Anything Goes; Herr Wexler, The Visit, and Friar Lawrence, Romeo & Juliet.
